To ensure complete eradication of the threat of heartworm disease, monthly heartworm pills are recommended for year round use.  Some pet owners choose to use them seasonally instead.  In which case your dog should start taking Sentinel within one month of the first sign of mosquito activity, and treatment should continue until two months after the mosquito season finishes.  This seasonal use of heartworm medication works for many pet owners, but you should speak to your vet to find out just how prevalent the problem is in your locality, and of course to have a new heartworm test carried out each year.

Sentinel Flea Medicine
