The problems are the symptoms are very non-specific so diagnosis is often missed.   Generally breathing issues akin to bronchitis are the norm, but a cat may show little in the way of specific symptoms and simply be &quot;unwell&quot;.  It depends on where the heartworms congregate since they may move towards joints, eyes or other organs rather than the heart and lungs where they would usually go in a canine host.</description>
